Q13. If the Life Amendment doesn’t pass, isn’t this a waste of time?
A13. Seeking to pass the Life Amendment will provide many opportunities to educate the public and to motivate local action against abortion. William Wilberforce demonstrated that perseverance can overcome years of failure. It is possible to pass a Life Amendment. There are 27 Amendments to the Constitution, 10 of which were passed in the last 100 years. Securing the right to life stated in our Declaration of Independence for all persons is worthy of a Constitutional amendment effort.
The pro-life movement labored for decades to overturn Roe v. Wade. All of that effort was certainly not a waste of time. We must persevere until abortion is eliminated throughout the nation.
